Blizzard's Scam Policy
The other day, Sykke got scammed by a player in game.
Sykke made an agreement with another player (in the game) and handed over the required mats and a hefty gold tip for the other player to craft an item.
When it came time for the item to be handed over, the crafter decided that they wanted more gold than what was originally agreed to. The crafter then withheld the item from Sykke.
Sykke came into vent to discuss it with fellow guildies. At the time, I didn't have much to offer. I whispered the other player, indicating that it was not appropriate to change terms on a transaction and that his reputation within the game will be damaged and he could get reported. At which the other player offered to report me!
Not to be put off, I offered to submit a ticket into the Game Master for the offense. Sykke is still to let us know what is the outcome. I'm still willing to report the player for the scam. No player should have to put up with that type of behaviour within the game.
Let me remind you that we do have crafters within the guild - who will make things for the cost of mats (often without a tip). We also have members with a lot of great connections - to get items of higher value - lets make our Guild Community work for us all.

As long as there is a clear agreement in chat inside the game and not outside of the game, it can be investigated and considered a scam, if the agreement is not met.

I have not had the luxury of having my mats stolen before but I was just curious.
If there is an agreement in chat that if you give them the mats and they will in turn give you what you want, and they throw you on ignore after getting the mats from you and fly away can you take any action other than whining about it on the forums or in /2?
Like I said, no one has done this to me but everytime I hand over 4 maelstrom crystals for a weapon chant on one of my toons, I piss my pants in anticipation if it will pay off.
